Funding Futures, Fueling Dreams: Women and Girls in Sports
Sports change how girls see themselves.
Komera uses movement to build confidence, community, and opportunity. Donate today to keep girls in the game.
"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." - Wilma Rudolph, Olympic Sprinter

Why Komera Focuses on Sports for Change
Research shows that the greatest barriers to girls’ participation in sports are not ability, but access—family support, safety, and inclusive opportunities in schools.
Komera was born from the belief that girls deserve space to move, play, and belong. In 2008, the first Komera Fun Run created that space. What began as a single day of freedom and joy has grown into a pathway that helps girls stay in school and build futures through scholarships and support.
Today, Komera’s sports-for-change model pairs physical activity with leadership development, confidence building, and mentorship—because movement doesn’t just strengthen bodies, it shapes leaders.
With your support, we can keep every girl in the game—today, tomorrow, and for years to come. To learn more about Komera's Health & Wellness programming, click here.
"The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up." - Serena Williams, Professional Tennis Player
